The story you have just seen is true. Only the names have been changed to protect the innocent

– Jack Webb, Dragnet

No matter how oiled your marketing machine is or how well you plan ahead, you will run into challenges and obstacles, and find yourself wondering how you got into the mess you’re trying to get out of.

So are marketing headaches, aren’t they a lot of fun? 🙂

This is part of the marketing process, but the good news is:

Your marketing problems aren’t unique: someone has been through them, faced them head-on, and passed with flying colors. The names and faces may have been changed, but the story stays the same, and that means a solution is already available in one way or another.

The answer to your woes may not be as crystal clear or prepared as you’d hope, but if you just consult with the right individuals, involve the right peers in the process, and don’t look at it as if it’s the end of the world, you will be able to alleviate the stress and begin taking the steps to solve your issues.

Consider what you’re facing, see if it can be looked at from a different point of view, cut and pasted into another industry or startup, and whether it has any similarities at all to another marketing play, solution, or growth hack you’ve seen before.

It is likely it does have some similarities to one or two or more different marketing hacks you’ve encountered personally or a marketing contact has. And so how did they approach and get out of it? If the issue is as severe and difficult as you make it to be, then you will need to use creativity and past experiences (yours or others) to solve your problems.

It may not be easy, but I’ll bet more than a few bucks an answer is possible and already available, and it will end up being easier than you expect and right in front of you.
