Your idea is disruptive, it will cause the next paradigm shift, and the world needs to know of it…ASAP.
But will your audience see it so clearly as well? will they understand your value quickly and easily?
You may have gone through the motions of crafting your message, filling out the brief just right, and you feel you got the value proposition down pat…easily covering what’s in it for me (WIIFM), or them actually.
So you should be golden and ready to go, right?
Could be you are. And it could be you need a second opinion…though only if you feel like it 🙂
So the question is, do you think there is room to fine-tune your message?
If you do believe there’s room for improvement (there usually is), then it’s time to talk to your peers: ex-colleagues, friends, contacts, and others who have knowledge of your market and are open to going through the motion of seeing or reviewing your message and copy.
This may sound elementary and given, but you’d be surprised how many don’t see this as clearly and avoid such steps…out of secrecy, embarrassment, elitism, or whatever. But it’s like having your ideal audience as your very own focus group…golden.
Please note though, this is a double-edged sword that also has the ability to take you in too many directions and away from the focused and clear message you aimed for in the first place.
